What is one thing that inspires you?
One thing that truly inspires me is the unwavering commitment of individuals who persistently pursue their goals, regardless of the challenges they encounter or the outcomes they achieve. The dedication to consistently put in effort, even in the face of failures or successes, is a testament to the strength of character and the depth of passion that resides within people. This steadfast determination showcases the resilience of the human spirit and serves as a powerful reminder that success is often the result of a series of continuous, dedicated actions. Witnessing such individuals reminds me of the remarkable capacity we possess to overcome obstacles, learn from our experiences, and forge ahead on our journeys, regardless of the circumstances.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment lies in successfully spearheading the launch of an innovative AI/ML tool during my tenure at Amazon, which directly impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of customers. This tool has revolutionised the way vendor/vendor manager relationships were managed, significantly enhancing efficiency and productivity in the procurement process. By introducing cutting-edge technology, I facilitated seamless communication between our large language model AI and vendors, enabling them to access critical information and make informed decisions effortlessly. This accomplishment is a testament to my commitment to driving technological advancements that create tangible value for both businesses and individuals.
How did you help your community this year?
Throughout this year, I've dedicated myself to making a meaningful impact on my community through various volunteering and mentoring endeavours. One of the ways I've contributed is by serving as an Amazon mentor, where I've had the privilege to guide and train Amazon employees in the realm of product management. This role has allowed me to share my expertise and insights, helping these professionals enhance their skills and excel in their careers.
Additionally, I've taken on the role of a Product mentor at the University of Washington, where I've been assisting students in building their careers in technology and product management. By providing guidance and support to these budding talents, I aim to empower them to navigate the complexities of the tech industry and find their paths to success.
In the past, I've also run online courses that reached over 1500 students, focusing on emerging technologies, coding, and strategies for building careers in the tech sector. I've fostered an inclusive learning environment through Zoom sessions, enabling individuals to grow their skills from the comfort of their own spaces.
Furthermore, I've extended my contributions to the open-source community, sharing my insights and learnings on GitHub. This commitment was acknowledged when one of my GitHub contributions was chosen for the Arctic GitHub vault, adding to my dedication to providing free, accessible learning resources.
Beyond mentoring and sharing knowledge, I've actively participated as a judge in numerous hackathons, competitions, and events organised by institutions like Columbia University, Ohio State University, and others. Witnessing the challenges that many people face, I feel a strong responsibility to contribute my time, skills, and resources to make a difference.
When I see the positive outcomes of my efforts - the smiles on people's faces, the improved lives, and the sense of unity within the community - it reinforces my belief in the power of collective action. Giving back allows me to be part of something larger than myself, to create a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond my immediate sphere of influence.
Moreover, giving back is a way for me to express gratitude for the opportunities I've had in life.
